Bahrain International Circuit, ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’. Will host an autocross event on Friday evening at the circuit car park.
It has been organized by Bahrain’s Circuit Racing Club (CRC) in co-operation with the Bahrain Motor Federation and Bahrain International Circuit.
Dozens of participants from Bahrain and abroad are expected to take part following the grand success of similar autocross rounds held during the Holy Month of Ramadan. Hundreds of fans were also on hand to witness the intense racing action.
There are five competition categories. Drivers may register at the circuit prior to the start of the event, which will begin at 6.30 p.m. The entry fee is 10 BD. All participants must have at least a D Competition License from the Bahrain Motor Federation.
All drivers will be required to adhere to specific rules and regulations before taking part. All must also go through a series of checks on their cars to ensure that they meet the safety standards. These include making sure that the car is free of any leaks or tyre damage, the windows are in good and working condition, the driver’s seat belt is functioning properly, and the removal of any tools or equipment in the car that may be hazardous to the driver while competing. Any external features that may be potentially dangerous to spectators must also be taken off.
Winners in each category will receive 50 BD in prize money, while each runner-up will get 30 BD. Third place drivers will win 10 BD.
Entrance for spectators is free.
