BIC 2,000CC CHALLENGE SET FOR HOT COMPETITION

The Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) 2,000cc Challenge roars back into action on Saturday (January 19) with the fourth round of the 2012/2013 season taking place at “The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East” in Sakhir.

The event has been organised by Circuit Racing Club in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation and BIC.

Plenty of action is expected in the upcoming round, with a full grid of some of the best gentleman drivers from Bahrain and the GCC expected to take part.

All are invited to attend and tickets can be purchased at the gate. Ticket prices are BD2 for adults and BD1 for children aged 15 years old and below.

Action out on the tarmac begins at 10.30am with free practices, to be followed by qualifying at 11.30am.

The round’s first race will then flag off at1.50pm, while race two gets underway at 3.50pm. The podium ceremony follows all the racing.

Heading into the event, Raed Himmo, who drives a 1.8-litre Honda CRX, tops the championship table with 99 points.

Former champion Shaikh Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa (Honda CIVIC 2.0) follows not far behind with 96 points, while defending champion Stephen Kellogg (Honda CIVIC 2.0) is third on 87 points.

Tim Birkin (Honda Integra 2.0) is in fourth place with 85 markers, while Abdulrahman Ghuloom (Honda CIVIC 2.0) rounds out the top five with 60 points.

Completing the classification from sixth through 10th place, respectively, are Robin Brown (Renault Clio Sport 2.0) with 58 points, Alex Longden (BMW 3 Series) with 43 points, Hussain Karimi (Honda CRX 2.0) with 15 points, Ahmed Kuzbar (Ford Focus 2.0) with 12 points and Salah Salahuddin (Honda CIVIC 2.0), who has yet to score any points.
